ZTO Group held the first Model Worker Lecture Hall and the second ZTO Youth May Fourth Medal Award Ceremony.

To celebrate International Labor Day and the Youth Day of May Fourth, on April 29, the group company held the first Model Worker Lecture Hall and the second ZTO Youth May Fourth Medal Award Ceremony. The group company’s party committee secretary Shi Honggong, general manager Mi Baolun, deputy general manager Zhang Daofeng, union chairman Sun Yinliang, and other members of the group’s party and government leadership team, as well as representatives of model workers at all levels, heads of various business units, and representatives of young employees, totaling more than 200 people, attended the lecture hall. The lecture hall was hosted by the group company’s union chairman Sun Yinliang.
At the lecture hall, the group company’s party committee secretary Shi Honggong first delivered a speech. Secretary Shi first extended holiday greetings to all employees working hard on various fronts and positions in the company on behalf of the group company’s party and government leadership team. He expressed high respect to the model worker representatives present and, through them, to all advanced collectives and individuals who have made contributions! Secretary Shi pointed out that in the 57 years of development of ZTO, a large number of model workers have emerged who have worked hard for the development of the enterprise. In the 1960s, there were the factory founders who repaired iron plows outdoors in the cold winter, in the 1970s, technical elites who sat together to develop the first passenger car, in the 1980s, production pioneers who relied on many people to transport vehicles in the wind and snow, in the 1990s, marketing soldiers who bravely expanded the market and established the brilliant "South Yang North Liao", and in the new century, a good pattern of diversified development has formed, showcasing the strong spiritual strength of generations of ZTO people who are self-reliant and hardworking. Secretary Shi emphasized that over the years, the group’s union has focused on the center and served the overall situation, doing a lot of effective work, and has always attached great importance to the selection, cultivation, and care of model workers, actively creating a good environment for the healthy growth of model workers. Secretary Shi required that each business unit must adhere to the principle of relying wholeheartedly on employees to run the enterprise, fully exerting the role of the majority of employees as the main force; leaders at all levels must take the lead in promoting the spirit of model workers, come up with practical strategies, encourage practical efforts, and do practical work, not seeking false fame or engaging in empty work, but leading employees to implement various tasks; the vast number of workers should vigorously promote the spirit of model workers and the spirit of labor, earnestly invest in the comprehensive deepening of reform with a sense of ownership, work diligently, and contribute greater wisdom and strength to the development of the group company.
Subsequently, Zhang Xu, secretary of the group’s Youth League Committee, read the commendation document for the second "ZTO Youth May Fourth Medal" (ZTO Industrial Youth [2015] No. 7), awarding the title of "ZTO Youth May Fourth Medal" to 16 employees including Zhang Shiliang, Zhao Xiufa, Li Yong, Zhang Lei, and Ji Xuegang from the passenger car company, Yan Zhijun, Guo Zhengyang, and Wu Zhiliang from the special vehicle company, Sun Yingmei, Yu Dongsheng, Li Xiaopeng, and Zhang Zhenjun from the steel structure company, Li Bin from the real estate company, Chen Junfeng from the logistics company, Liu Guitao from the special passenger car company, and Ren Honghe from the group finance department. This fully affirms the contributions made by the vast number of young people in the group who closely focus on the core of the enterprise’s production and operation work, uphold their beliefs, advocate science, dare to take responsibility, and work hard for the sustainable and healthy development of the group company. He hopes that the awarded young employees will take this as a new starting point, cherish the honor, continue to work hard, set an example, play a role, and strive for greater achievements. He also hopes that the vast number of young employees will take the advanced individuals who have been awarded as examples, study diligently, work steadily, and promote the smooth realization of the group company’s various goals with a proactive attitude.
Next, 11 representatives of model workers at the group level and above, including Ye Ping, Liu Bopeng, Guo Bing, and Zhang Shiliang, took the stage to share their work experiences with the attending employees, recounting their touching stories of hard work, making contributions, pursuing ideals, and silently dedicating themselves in ordinary positions. Among them, some are models of dedication, some are benchmarks for innovation and efficiency, some are leaders in team management, and some are role models for filial piety. They are excellent representatives of the 5,000 employees of ZTO, engraving their sense of responsibility in the practice of ZTO’s reform and development, and writing their glorious achievements in realizing the "ZTO dream" of "enriching employees and strengthening enterprises, and growing in connotation". The advanced deeds and noble moral character of the model workers touched every employee present, and there were several rounds of thunderous applause, which was both recognition and praise for the model workers and affirmation of the spirit of model workers and the inheritance of ZTO culture. By allowing the model workers around them to tell their stories and using typical examples to educate the employees around them, a "spiritual feast" honoring the glory of labor was delivered to the employees present.
The deputy director of the group company’s human resources department, Lu Zejun, read the "Initiative" addressed to all employees on behalf of the model workers, calling on the vast number of employees to be models of dedication, contribution, resilience, and progress, to be models of diligent study and striving for excellence, and to be models of promoting the spirit of the times and advocating new social trends.
In summarizing the speeches of the model worker representatives, the group union chairman Sun Yinliang pointed out that the deeds of model workers are all real and wonderful. They shoulder their missions and responsibilities, are loyal to their posts, and play an important leading role among the vast number of employees. Under the "new normal" situation, the purpose of holding this model worker lecture hall is to hope to take this opportunity to focus on top-level design, strive to create a "new position" for model workers to demonstrate and lead; focus on skill training, and strive to create a "new base" for the inheritance and development of model workers; focus on innovation and tackling key problems, and strive to create a "new field" for model workers to cultivate talents. Actively select and establish role models around, gather talent power, guide the vast number of employees to reflect on the advanced deeds of model workers, find gaps, and promote improvement, transforming the effectiveness of model workers’ deeds into motivation for doing good work, and actively participating in the construction of the "ZTO dream" of enriching employees and strengthening enterprises, thus creating a wave of learning from and striving to be model workers throughout the group. Chairman Sun emphasized that the party and government leadership team of the group and each unit should study the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech at the National Labor Day Conference, form insights, publicly display them in the unit’s bulletin board, and report them to the group party committee. Chairman Sun also put forward clear requirements for the follow-up work to be carried out after this lecture hall.

At the end of the meeting, the General Manager of the Group, Mi Baolun, delivered a concluding speech. Mr. Mi, on behalf of the management team, extended holiday greetings to all employees, warmly congratulated the colleagues who received the Youth May Fourth Medal from Zhongtong, and expressed his highest respect. After listening to the speeches from the model workers' representatives, Mr. Mi emotionally stated that after hearing everyone's reports, he felt educated. He shared six points of reflection: First, enjoyment, as the model workers embody the spirit of loving their work; second, dedication, as the model workers prioritize the collective over personal interests; third, unity of knowledge and action, emphasizing execution over mere words; fourth, responsibility, being brave in struggle and willing to take on challenges; fifth, a sense of family, reflecting team spirit; and sixth, innovation and progress, which energizes Zhongtong's development. Mr. Mi emphasized that the Group and its various business units should carry forward the spirit of model workers, establish corresponding systems, and celebrate the establishment of Zhongtong Business School. He called on all cadres and employees to learn from model workers, respect them, and strive to be like them, vigorously promoting the fine tradition of model workers who "care for the overall situation and cherish unity," contributing to the goal of building a century-old Zhongtong and a hundred billion enterprise. Finally, Mr. Mi stressed that a beautiful tomorrow for Zhongtong requires hard work, and a happy life must be created through labor. Let us further promote the spirit of model workers: "dedication to work, striving for excellence, hard work, courage to innovate, indifference to fame and fortune, and willingness to contribute," fostering a spirit of dedication, responsibility, and breakthrough throughout the Group, and further striving for progress and innovation, driving the Group towards better and sustainable development, and achieving new accomplishments on the journey towards the goal of building a century-old Zhongtong and a hundred billion enterprise!
