On April 16, Beijing time, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Ecuador, marking the highest magnitude earthquake the country has faced since 1979. The death toll is nearly 700, many buildings have been flattened, and over 20,000 people are homeless. Aftershocks continue, making it difficult for locals to return to normal life. In the face of disaster, Chinese enterprises bravely take responsibility, building a life-saving barrier for the local people. Zhongtong Bus, as a representative enterprise in China's bus industry, actively engaged in the frontline of disaster relief, establishing a smooth lifeline for the affected people!

At the first moment of the disaster, the management and overseas sales personnel of Zhongtong Bus responded quickly, contacting local agents and some customers to allocate rescue vehicles. On the morning of the earthquake, 123 Zhongtong buses were gathered, all of which were dispatched to the disaster area to provide free transportation for supplies, rescue personnel, and the injured.

The earthquake caused severe damage to local roads, and with continuous aftershocks, it posed greater dangers and difficulties for vehicles to enter, making the journey perilous. However, the Zhongtong Bus personnel participating in the disaster relief remained undeterred and faced the challenges head-on, as they said, "It's not that we are not afraid, but the people in the disaster area need us."

Most of the 123 Zhongtong buses participating in the rescue are NAVIGATOR models, with spacious luggage compartments ensuring sufficient transportation of supplies, timely delivering food and water needed by the disaster-affected people. These vehicles are equipped with CUMMINS engines, VOITH hydraulic retarders, ZF imported steering gears, ESP, and advanced active and passive safety electrical systems, ensuring safe driving in the harsh road conditions of the disaster area.

Zhongtong Bus's participation in disaster relief this time also relies on the strong support and cooperation of local agents in Ecuador. They actively coordinated Zhongtong Bus vehicles nationwide, gathered supplies, and explored routes, playing a strong role in this rescue process. Zhongtong Bus reached a cooperation agreement with the agency in 2008. The agency is a comprehensive bus company that integrates bus sales, maintenance, parts support, and quick service, dedicated to serving Ecuador's transportation industry, adhering to the principle of customer first and a win-win business philosophy, which aligns with Zhongtong Bus's concept of "growing together with business partners."

Zhongtong Bus has a good reputation in the Ecuadorian market, receiving high praise from passengers and being regarded by local customers as a star in China's bus manufacturing industry. To date, nearly 200 large buses have been sold.

Disasters are ruthless, but humanity is compassionate; love knows no borders. After the strong earthquake, Ecuador is suffering, and the Chinese forces abroad take on moral responsibilities and heavy duties in critical moments, fully reflecting the social responsibility and international humanitarian spirit of Chinese enterprises and personnel.
